International Exchange and Grants

To promote international exchange and encourage individual members of the association to participate in international academic conferences and librarian exchange programs, the association and related organizations will provide partial financial support. The subsidy programs and application details are as follows:

1. Taiwan Medical Library Association International Exchange Subsidy Program 臺灣醫學圖書館學會國際交流補助計畫 

   • Purpose: To promote international exchange and encourage individual members of the association to participate in international academic conferences and librarian exchange programs, the association will provide partial financial support.
   • Application Deadline: Applications for the previous year’s international exchange activities must be submitted by the end of January each year. The fiscal year runs from January 1 to December 31.

2. Taiwan Medical Library Association IFII Grant for Medical Librarians’ International Exchange 臺灣醫學圖書館學會醫學圖書館員參與國際交流IFII獎助金申請辦法 

   • Purpose: To enhance the professional knowledge and international perspective of medical library practitioners, and to promote international interlibrary exchange and cooperation, the association has been entrusted by the Taiwan International Federation for Information Integration (IFII) to establish this grant. This program encourages medical library practitioners to present papers and posters abroad, participate in international conferences, engage in interlibrary cooperation, and take part in librarian exchange programs. The goal is to refine service skills and professional competencies to provide higher-quality medical information services.
   • Application Deadline: Applicants must submit relevant supporting documents within one month after the event.

3. Taiwan Medical Library Association Academic Publication Incentive Program 臺灣醫學圖書館學會會員學術發表獎勵辦法

   • Purpose: To encourage members to submit papers to domestic and international academic journals or participate in academic conferences and present high-quality research, this program has been established. The goal is to enhance the service quality of medical library professionals and increase the visibility of the association
   • Application Deadline: Applications for the previous year’s academic exchange activities must be submitted by the end of January each year. The fiscal year runs from January 1 to December 31.

4. Annual Conference and Medical Library Staff Annual Academic Poster Exhibition 本會各年度年會暨醫學圖書館工作人員年會學術海報展

   • Purpose: To enhance academic and practical exchanges among medical libraries in Taiwan and to spark research innovation, the association organizes an academic poster exhibition as part of the annual conference and medical library staff annual meeting. This initiative aims to encourage outstanding medical librarians and teams to contribute to the positive development of academic research.
   • Subsidy Details: The first author of the best poster selected in the annual conference’s poster exhibition will be eligible for reimbursement of economy-class round-trip airfare and conference registration fees if their poster is accepted for presentation at the following year’s MLA (Medical Library Association) annual meeting. Maximum Airfare Subsidy by Region:
     (1)Western United States: NT$35,000
     (2)Eastern and Central United States: NT$45,000
