2025年8月12日至15日，臺灣醫學圖書館學會（TMLA）接待日本醫學圖書館協會（JMLA）及馬來西亞醫學圖書館學會（MLG）代表團，共同展開為期四天的專業參訪與交流。此次不僅是 JMLA 與 TMLA 於 2024 年 12 月締結姐妹會後的首次訪台，也延續 TMLA 與 MLG 自 2023 年締結姐妹會以來的第三度交流，具有深遠意義。
JMLA 代表團由小松康宏會長、児玉閲專務理事及佐藤晋巨理事組成，自 8 月 12 日起先後參訪臺大醫學圖書館、醫學人文博物館、北投圖書館、台大兒童醫院及馬偕兒童醫院，並於 14 日出席中興大學圖書館舉辦的「2025 醫學圖書館年會」。年會開幕時，馬來西亞圖書館學會（PPM）理事長 Ghazali Mohamed Fadzil 透過影片致賀，祝福會議圓滿成功。
同日 13:00 舉行國際交流專場，聚焦於學會與大學及機構行政部門的互動經驗，並分享學會是否為新任醫學圖書館館長提供相關教育培訓課程。此一主題亦回應不同國家在圖書館領導職務任命上的多樣情形，凸顯專業支持與培力方案的重要性。
隨後，児玉閲專務理事發表「日本医学図書館協会（JMLA）のご紹介」，並誠摯邀請本會參加 2027 年 JMLA 百週年紀念大會；同場，來自 MLG 的 Zanaria Saupi Udin 亦以線上方式發表「Enhancing Competencies in Medical Librarianship」，分享馬來西亞醫學圖書館專業培力的策略。
MLG 代表團因颱風延誤，於 14 日晚間抵臺，並於 15 日正式展開參訪行程，包括國立公共資訊圖書館與中興大學圖書館。當日下午，MLG 成員進行學術發表：Akiza Roswati Abdullah 以「The Liaison Librarian’s Role as a Transformative Agent in Driving Medical Faculties Toward Greater Dynamism」探討 liaison librarian 在醫學院的推動角色；理事長 Norazlina Abdul Rahman 則發表「Use and Management of Subscribed Medical Databases in Malaysia Medical Libraries: A National Survey Towards Best Practice Guidelines」，分享馬來西亞醫學資料庫使用調查成果。
本次交流深化了 TMLA 與姐妹會間的專業合作與情誼，透過參訪、發表與座談，展現國際醫學圖書館界共同推動知識共享與專業發展的努力，並為未來合作奠定良好基礎。
From August 12 to 15, 2025, the Taiwan Medical Library Association (TMLA) hosted delegations from the Japan Medical Library Association (JMLA) and the Medical Library Group of Malaysia (MLG) for a four-day program of professional visits and exchanges. This occasion marked not only JMLA’s first visit to Taiwan since forming a sister-association relationship with TMLA in December 2024, but also the third exchange between TMLA and MLG since their partnership was established in 2023, underscoring its profound significance.
The JMLA delegation was composed of President Yasuhiro Komatsu, Executive Director Tadashi Kodama, and Director Kuniko Sato. Beginning on August 12, they visited the National Taiwan University Medical Library, the Medical Humanities Museum, Beitou Library, NTU Children’s Hospital, and Mackay Children’s Hospital. On August 14, they attended the TMLA 2025 Annual Conference held at the National Chung Hsing University Library. At the opening ceremony, Ghazali Mohamed Fadzil, President of the Malaysian Librarians Association (PPM), conveyed his congratulations via video, wishing the conference every success.
That same day at 1:00 p.m., a special international exchange session was held, focusing on the interaction between library associations and university or institutional administrations, as well as on whether associations provide training programs for newly appointed medical library directors. This theme also reflected the diverse practices of leadership appointments across different countries, highlighting the importance of professional support and capacity-building initiatives.
Subsequently, Executive Director Tadashi Kodama delivered a presentation titled “An Introduction to the Japan Medical Library Association (JMLA)” and extended a warm invitation to TMLA to participate in JMLA’s centennial conference in 2027. In the same session, Zanaria Saupi Udin of MLG presented online on “Enhancing Competencies in Medical Librarianship”, sharing strategies for professional capacity building in Malaysian medical libraries.
Due to typhoon-related delays, the MLG delegation arrived in Taiwan on the evening of August 14 and officially began their visit on August 15, which included the National Library of Public Information and the National Chung Hsing University Library. That afternoon, MLG members delivered scholarly presentations: Akiza Roswati Abdullah discussed “The Liaison Librarian’s Role as a Transformative Agent in Driving Medical Faculties Toward Greater Dynamism”, exploring the impact of liaison librarians in medical schools; while MLG Chairman Norazlina Abdul Rahman presented “Use and Management of Subscribed Medical Databases in Malaysia Medical Libraries: A National Survey Towards Best Practice Guidelines”, sharing the outcomes of a nationwide study on medical database usage in Malaysia.
This exchange deepened the professional cooperation and friendship between TMLA and its sister associations. Through visits, presentations, and discussions, it showcased the joint commitment of the international medical library community to knowledge sharing and professional development, laying a solid foundation for future collaboration.
